The motor I have runs fine at 5amps with no sign of a problem, fairly powerful motor.
Not worth the effort to rewind them, they can be had for $10 approx.
Most of these Chinese origin motors are made by Johnson motors, China.

I didn't had the phone at hand until now.
Here are the measurements. The case is 3cm long.
The black think on the top is the plastic blower. The 3 tiny elements there are the brush contacts that simply fly off the plastic that hold them.
@KeithWalker you nail it. Your motor looks exactly as mine.

I know... Im actually waiting for a proper blower mini turbine at 12V from ebay. But they cost me dearly. 2pcs at 9 usd. Aaah, my pocket. And compared to aliexpress, that I did it after taking them from ebay, I find the same motors $2.73/item= x2pcs=US $4.75.
So ebay is 2 times more expensive than aliexpress. Thats what you have to learn from my commercial experience here.
But the deed is done. Oh well, learn from my mistakes then. I hope now they are strong and good enough.

I did this experiment with this motor that was clearly damaged, from pure curiosity. My intention was to make it work but he didnt so... a (motor) life is gone now.

I managed to clean all the wires and to physically confirm it is metal on metal, the steel plates and the ax.
Also see the plastic parts, they are scorched, especially in the middle where is more red-brown. Zoom in for detailed view.
