5v power supply , buck boost or not?

I've sort of come from there, my last design was using a h bridge with MOSFET s to try and use a higher drive voltage, at the moment my coil is driven from a high pin to a low pin then switched around, effectively use the pic outputs as a h bridge.
I'm trying to make it as simple and cheap as I can, will have a look at ti for h-bridge, never know when you might need one.....
