Hi all....
I need to build an oscillator using descrete
components for a project im doing..
i would like to keep it as simple as possible.
only thing it must have a fixed 50KHz output. would anybody out there have any
ideas or circuit diagrams that might be helpfull..
I would really appreciate any help or input with this...

hi thanks for the quick replys.. the only thing it has to be as simple as possible.. thats kinda the thing..i need a sq wave output for the next stage.. ive looked at a few designs colpitts hartley oscillator etc but it the values for the components to give 50hhz out which im finding hard

Colpitts and Hartley are both sine wave oscillators, not simple. The 555 I referenced is as simple as it gets, but not a 50% square wave. The addition of a resistor will fix that.

What are you driving?

7414, one resistor for feedback, one capacitor from input to ground... you have 5 Schmitt triggers left over for other functions.
