Hi
I was just working on a project related to 3g connectivity.

I have a 3g dongle inside a steel box. The 3g dongle does'nt seem to get the signals inside the box .

Dont we get 3G signals inside a stainless steel box?

Any solution for this, without replacing the steel box ?

Take it out of the box.

Also look up Faraday Cage.
Thank you.

Is it possible to get a signal if we use an external antenna. i.e Some modems have provision for an external aerial or some sort of aerial on the outside to the inside might help conduct the signal ??

Or making some holes might help ???

Yes, either antenna that is outside the metal box or a hole in the metal box. Or you can connect the unit to the metal box, then the box becomes the antenna.
