I want to make 3D Structured light face recognition module. The module will consist of image sensor (IR or RGB+IR), IR Dot Projector and IR Illuminator.

Queries:
1. How to estimate number of dots for the projector?
2. How to calculate resolution of image sensor?
3. Can anybody suggest me some reference design for the module

Is your model for face recognition or face detection? Face recognition usually needs image processing. Usually we use OpenCV.

I need face recognition. For image processing and face id algorithm i will be using vision processor with NPU.

 

Certainly accurate face recognition requires a large amount of processor power, OR a whole lot of time. And certainly the large amount of processor power will not be in a small inexpensive package. The possible exception would be comparing one view of one face to a reference photographm one feature at a time. Then the code will onlyneed to compare two image files. That is still far beyond simple or easy.
