3-pin resonator for microcontroller

Hi

I am designing a PCB for a 40-pin microcontroller and having trouble with the design of the traces for the 3-pin ceramic resonator.

I remember from somewhere it needs a backing earth plane but as to the details I can't seem to find them?

I use Sprint Layout preferably to design my PCBs.

Any helpful comments?

Well yes a little

But my two problems now are, which way round is the leaded ceramic resonator, and secondly, what are the dimensions of the back-plane and the traces?

Is it a 2-pin or 3 pin ceramic resonator?
If 3-pin, the centre pin is ground. The other 2 pins can be connected any way.
Keep the resonator as close as possible to the MC. Ground plane usually not required.
