I'm a beginning EET student trying to solve this problem... it was barely covered in class and the book we were given is a mess. I'm looking for help specifically regarding the methodology to work through it, the process / steps to follow so I can solve it and similar problems in the future myself. Essentially, tutoring on the problem.

 

I may well have been able to solve this problem at one time,but it is too long ago.

My suggestion,if the book the course uses is a "mess",is to search for other books on the subject.
You may well find one which gives you a much better insight into the problem.
Universities often sell "redundant" books which are still very good,but are not the current "fad".
The Uni bookshops always have a few "cheapies",so it is worthwhile checking them.
