I have BERMAD irrigation 24V AC solenoid series S-390-3-D. Link has been attached of the product.https://www.bermad.com/app/uploads/IR_Accessories-Solenoid-S-390-3W_Product-Page_English.pdf. I would like to know here what does it mean by continuous current control in its specs?I have used TRIAC based circuit to control this valve. My concern is for achieving continuous current control do we need PID based PWM control system here or simple GPIO ON/OFF would work?

I could find little definitive information on what that means.

But TRIAC (AC) control of the AC rated solenoid should be fine.
It doesn't need to be PWM, just on/off.
basically this application is for irrigation system where we need to control the flow of water from valve.Control only mean to just make it ON and OFF. I have one more concern,if the solenoid is turned ON continuously for hours will the current flowing through the solenoid coil won't damage it?If yes how can I prevent it considering the above solenoid. What are factors I should keep in mind while designing such circuit?

I see nothing in the data sheet that would indicate it can't be continuously ON.

You could save some power, if desired, by reducing the voltage after the solenoid is energized (hit and hold circuit).

it is meant to work continuously. the only reason some products are not rated for continuous duty is heat dissipation. and this device only consumed 2-3W and - it is water cooled.
