2 Power sources through a relay to allow both sources to function at same time

Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to connect 2 power sources to a relay and have the both sources work at same time? What I mean is , could I have 2 different AC sources pass through a relay, and have the both sources pass through a key card switch, such that i can have some load on one source and others on the other source?
