I know similar questions has been asked before but I didn't want to bring up old threads.
I have a gas engine that is hooked to an alternator to generate power. The generator is rate at 14v @ 100AMP max output at some x rpms.

I have a few questions if you don't mind answering:
  1. There are a lot of Solar Charge Controller, but I don't know if it is suitable for an alternator. Can I use them to control the charging? Can they handle the current from the alternator?
  2. Can I connect the one (1) alternator to two (2) charge controller? If so, will the output AMP be divided by 2 into each charger? So 50AMP per charger now?
  3. What charger do you recommend?
Thank you!

Doesn't the alternator have it's own regulator, or one built in?
An alternator needs a regulator to control it's field current, which, in turn, controls the output voltage.

Does the charger's input matter at all? Wouldn't 100amp of current fry up the charger? Or maybe I don't know how amps work.
