Rated 1/3 HP @ 115 Vac 2-spd AC Motor. Driving a large squirrel cage fan. Uses a permanent split capacitor of 12.5 MF @ 370 V

I am trying to prevent a stalled motor condition using a sail switch, relay, and timer on this motor which is partial to stalling when the lubricated shaft bearing dries out (not easily accessible for maintenance). Which can burn the motor coils when in the stalled condition. The NC relay timer circuit would allow time for the motor to reach speed and close the sail switch, and then shut down the motor if it doesn't close.

Is it okay to break the COMMON lead with an additional relay? Would that prevent current in the High and Low speed coils? Or should I use a Dbl pole relay to break the H & L speed circuit leads?

The COM lead is easily accessible and the current is 2.9 amp and 2.5 amp for the two speeds.

Thanks.
