I wonder isnt that material be the same well known PAPER???

 

Archery bow makers have done something similar for centuries, to get higher performance and strength from wood bows. They heat a finished bow and rubbed the surface with a smooth stone, multiple times. They just didn't know why it worked.

There is a similarity! The lignins and hemicellulose are removed, but with paper the wood fibers are torn apart and reassembled. This invention apparently retains the original cellulose structure, just with the voids squeezed out. I'm skeptical.
