Wine Enthusiast wine fridge issue; question about FX101B circuit board

Our wine fridge, which uses two of the FX101B circuit boards (one near each fan), stopped working after a power outage. If plugged in, it would constantly beep, and the fans would fail to turn on (the bottom one would start and then stop, the top one wouldn't turn on at all). In trying to diagnose the issue, I found that if I unplugged the connection circled in red in the photo on the top circuit board, the fridge seems to work just fine (i.e., achieving desired temperature). I am tempted to just leave it unplugged but realize there may be unintended consequences of doing so. Anyone know what this connection does or what the root issue might be? I've reviewed the success stories thread but haven't seen this specific manifestation of issue.

Good question--maybe the initial coolness I felt was residual from before the power outage. It doesn't seem to be getting as cool as it is intended to be.

I think that probably is the TEC connector. That means your observation is consistent with the typical failure of the power supply, specifically C8. Without the relatively large load of the TEC, the board can function normally. But connecting the load overloads the (failing) board and drops the voltage.
