So what if you're measuring voltages in a noisy place ?
I've designed and used lots of equipment with BNC connections for DMM type voltage and current single-ended measurements. It's very common for process chambers to use a hermetically sealed BNC bulk-head connector for DC metering connections. So what if you're measuring voltages in a noisy place ?
If one side of the circuit being measured is at the "hardware frame" ground potential then that is fine. But when I am measuring a base to emitter voltage and neither side is near ground then there could be a problem. Also, process chambers are not what most applications deal with.I've designed and used lots of equipment with BNC connections for DMM type voltage and current single-ended measurements.
