A sysadmin whose greatest fear was always electronics. Almost at its thirties, he now desires to learn everything he wasn't able to when he was a student. Wikipedia helps in some way, but i.e., something like Kirchoff law's isn't an issue one will get over just by finishing the article which talks about it.
He also tries to write down paragraphs like these in an english which still needs some improvements here and there, because his native language is spanish —which he doesn't master, either.
Any question regarding more info about him is pretty welcome.
:)

Old joke:

How many system administrators does it take to replace a transistor?

None. That's a hardware problem.:D
Replacin'?
Just shrink'em and add some more, ma! More transistors, ma! Me like nanotransistors!

The point is:
Ain't no system, no need for its management, no administrators, no·thing without transistors. Unless you're willing to go back to the vacuum
Are you, Marty? Are you? :p

Anyway, there wasn't a point. I was just tryin' to compliment your welcome joke with something of its kind. And I did it again: I just wrote a bunch of maybe malformed, poorly structured sentences in a weird english that even I am unable to understand. (If that was the case, I beg the most merciful pardon for unintentionally speaking in my very own dialect.)

Thanks for the nice welcome. <- That was the point. (I guess ^_^)

Greetings all. I'm Bill. I'm a Broadcast Engineer in Radio. Been doing so for 25 years.
Hope to learn more and refresh my brain through this site.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone,

I recently graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Electronics. Some of my interests include circuit design, embedded software, cyber security, data bases, etc. Lately, I have been learning MySQL, Python, C++ as well as Lean Six Sigma. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to ask.

Hi I am Supuni. I graduated last year with a BEng in Electrical and Electronics. But I have realized my knowledge is very poor. So now I do self studies to get back on my own feet. Hope this will be a good start :)

I am a hobbyist with no formal education in electronics. I bought an Arduino starter kit, and got completely hooked.

I have been taking advantage of every free resource I can find, including many hours of YouTube videos. Some concepts are coming together, but it's slow going.

I hope to absorb some of the wisdom on this site, and keep this addiction alive long enough to feel confident I can make anything I put my mind to.

Hi all...
I'm a Canadian, involved in petroleum and mining, seeking to learn a bit more about electronics and old school vacuum tube amplifiers. Looking for another hobby - I want to build a guitar amp or two. The information on basic electronics in here seems like a great place to start. I really liked what I just read on the history and evolution of vacuum tubes.

I caution you: Audio nut cases (Audiophools) are not entertained here. We do science. Science is a good resource for designing amplifiers. You can get a huge amount of good and proper information here. (The darn thing will work.) If you want to discuss the creamy thrill of your 5U4 with exquisitely transparent Mallory capacitors, you will be better served by several other sites.

Not trying to be offensive. Just trying to let you now what to expect here. This is a no BS zone.
I have chased a few nanoamps into a defective operational amplifier. I have successfully designed for musicians that were true nut cases. I even respect the fact that a musician will have more tone profiles in his memory than I will ever learn. I have designed and built more than one guitar amp for myself. I have hidden transistors inside amplifiers that the musicians never found (or even suspected). Several people here are that good. What we won't do is buy into hyperbole, undefinable descriptions about how a sound feels, or $500 cables with gold plated connectors. We just design stuff that works. When we get done, you are free to change all the capacitors to orange ones or green ones, increase the operating current until the tubes melt, or install a 1000 watt speaker in a 5 watt amplifier. If that's what makes your woofer throb, fine. Just don't expect us to prove it with math.;)

My name is Eric. I am a 45 year old electrical engineering student at UNLV. I grew increasingly bored with my previous occupation in Sales and had long been unstimulated by my peers and my chosen path. After a life changing two year window, I changed everything and returned to school with the mindset I would challenge myself and live the life I chose. I chose EE because it sounded difficult and I knew virtually nothing about it. I truly enjoy the courses, but UNLV is not a great engineering school, so I find myself looking for external resources to help bridge the gap. I recognize my application of effort is the true difference. Two years left until I earn my degree. Just hope I can find work at my age when I am done, but that is for a later date. Thank you for any advice and help I receive from this community.

Hello All

My name is James a recovering Computer Specialist.
I hold many Certificates and what nots in computer engineering and science.
I also have a degree in Electronic Engineering and Software engineering, although I dont have my masters nor a phd, of which I should remedy some time.

My knowledge of electronic Technologies in General is broad but unfortunatly I have not yet specialised in a single field of it, I am currently correcting that issue.

No matter how much knowledge I have a always seem to run into a problem that I though I knew the answer to yet I realise that I dont.
I Guess I can attribute this to the fact that although electronic principles remain constant the Components are a variable.

In my persuit for knowledge I am always appreciative to recieve some assistance.

Hi everyone! I am a math student with a terrible circuit problem (or so I think). I'm sure here is the right place to talk about it :D

Hi all :)

I'm French and almost graduated from Arts et Metiers (generalist).
I've made numerous mechanical projects, and often use electronics, but in a self taught way...
Hope to learn and help others, if I can !
