Who are you?

Hello group,

I am finishing up my Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology at College of Western Idaho. I have been using your online textbook for a couple of years and has been a lot of help to me on several occasions. A big question I have though, is there anyone or anything that can provide assistance in passing the Certified Electronics Technician (CET) exam? My school provides zero assistance in that area and passing it is required for me to graduate. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I just discovered AAC and thought I might be of assistance to people new to Electronics, Software, and Embedded Systems. My experience goes back to the KIM-1 6502 based system which I bought new in 1976. I have worked professionally as an Embedded system Engineer for over 30 years. My hobbies are Guitar, Tube amps, CNC and the list goes on.

My name is Dan. I recently enrolled in an online electronics technology program. I find learning online is very hard because I cannot get instant feedback from my instructors. I joined this forum to ask questions and gain knowledge. I also find I need to be creative on how I learn, study and ask questions. I am thinking of creating a blog about my journey in learning basic electronics where I will post tutorials on the basics of electronics. This will reinforce what I have learned. I will also post any questions I may have regarding theory and reviews of projects and any electronics tools and kits I buy to learn electronics from home. Let me know if this is a good idea. Thanks.

Welcome to AAC!!! Hope you find the eTutorials and Forums useful for learning all about electronics.
Starting a blog sounds like a great idea. The best way to know how well you have grasped a subject is by having to explain it to someone else.

I'm 45, run a small medical software company, and have loved electronics since I was a kid. Recently I've started getting back in to them. Just built my own wifi thermostat with a spark core. These days just building simple circuits to better understand components and how they work.

I used to be a helicopter mechanic but decided I didn't want to do that anymore. I've always been interested in electronics and I've always taken things apart to see how they work. I have a basic understanding of electricity and I can usually troubleshoot most systems however I'm looking to expand on my limited knowledge and be able to look at a pcb and know what everything on it does and how it interacts with the rest of the components. That's my goal anyway.

Hello everyone!

I'm a computer engineering student all the way from Nepal. And I love this site! Salute to all who helped create this amazing website and all its amazing ebooks!

Hi everyone on AAC. I'm a Physics graduate who has recently joined the world of engineers! Currently re-learning electronic circuitry from the ground up again and I'm currently involved in diagnostics/fault finding and repairing old control systems for the offshore oil & gas industry.
I've already used AAC a few times and hopefully be contributing a lot more in future.

Briefly tell who you are.

I'm a senior student studying EE at UC Berkeley, specifically analog circuit design. B)
I'm a biker in northern Ireland who always had jawa interests from l loaned my 350 jawa to stastny when he arrived to take part in ULSTER GRAND PRIX,he had a push bike to cycle round on,from then I had the JAWA bug, at present I have 8 JAWAS, 2 TWIN PORTS 250CC, a 250 TWIN RACER 2STROKE, a 1974 350 twin ,a 1959 344twin,a 175cc, a 50cc moped, and a 1968 JAWA 90 ROADSTER, ITS THE ROADSTER90 that I am seeking advice about,it has a 12volt 65 w altnator ,the wiring layout has 4 independent circuits, 1 PILOT LIGHT anaTAIL LIGHT,2 HEADLIGHT,3 FOOTBRAKE,4 IGNITION, I WANT to charge battery on ignition circuit only, I'm trying to purchase a rectifier to handle voltage to charge battery, it needs to be a 2wire rectifier as I have one wire going to voltage control,iv been told not more than 2amps from rectifier to BATTERY, is it possible to purchase a rectifier rated at 2amps that would suit my JAWA 90.Regards Alex field.

I am a marine electro technical officer. Been sailing since 1994.
Just joined AAC. Hi to all. Love to read all you have to say and discuss. Will participate if I can help. Will ask when I need help.
From Myanmar. Above all Just an old guy in the group.

An anesthesiologist from Egypt, who is fond of electronics and addicted to RF circuits, I already played for a few years with both solid state and tube circuits, for audio as well as radio circuits. They don't always work, but that is part of the challenge. However, when they DO work, it is an enjoyable moment. I look at this as if I have an electronic "Mecano". Greetings to all.

I am 69 years old, a Jewelers of America certified master jeweler and master watch maker. also I have a mathematical engineering degree from west coast university ,back in 1972. I have a sail boat that I live on it has a yanmar disel engine (4lh-dte) an 8kw genset and a whole lot of electronics, hat I am learning about .slowly. Solar panels-3 an inverter 2500w and 11 large batteries. Looking up yanmar egins I came about this site. I was replacing a starter, an up graded version , it proved to be quite a job since I could only reach it at arms length and could not see any thing. The boat has lots of deferred maintenance issues. So I will be asking for help from time to time. If I can help any one with jewelry and gems and time pieces I would be happy to. Ali
