Roxx, welcome to AAC!
We encourage you to acquire broken or discarded stuff for your own enjoyment and collection.
One thing we will certainly not endorse is any illegal activity or doing damage to other people's property.
Knowledge of engagement in any such activity in future is grounds for immediate ban from AAC!

- during childhood, i used to keep screw driver in my school bag and while walking home i used to open side/rear lights of scooters of strangers anywhere on the road, only to get the bulb from inside. Then at home i would connect to a AAA size cell, lighten up the bulb and be the happiest kid.
You were young and foolish.
Today you look on it as a joke and laugh about it.

Lights and turn signals on a vehicle are required by law. Has it ever occurred to you that someone could have been injured or killed by your senseless and selfish act of stealing and sabotage on someone's scooter?

Think about it!

Well, it is certainly not something to be proud of doing that you would want to tell the entire world!

I agree but i was too young to understand it during my childhood. I know that its much cheaper bulb and its not the right thing to do.

Did your parents not ask you where you got those light bulbs?
Most they did not asked because i also had my electronic toys broken and parts and all. Toys like remotely controlled car, videogames, home appliances that stopped working and VCR cassette player, Walkmans,. moreover people dont give enough importance to side/rear lights in here, most people dont use turning indicator lights in two wheelers, only few use it. So a kid having a bulb from nowhere doesn't draw attention. After being an adult i understand its importance and taking out someone's bulb is totally wrong..

Graduated radiophysicists at University 1982 at Riga; from 4th elementary school grade when I became ill with soldering and radiodetails I walked each day after school to "Young pioneers center" for proportional control radiotransmitters DIY group (and secretly dreamed how to blast all the hated soviet system :) :) ) and read all the current russian Radio journals from cover to cover what at that time was a respectful and interesting issue and bit of German RadioFerneshen what somehow was not a prohibited litereture then, then after University begun to work in Solid State Physics institute what was then one of most sharpest designer in electronics, read each day the Burr Brown and Electronics Design News with stamp of "highly secret, only for employment needs", then nearing the Independence times I changed job to main engineer and designer of Republic First Laboratory of Environmental Analisis - just my experience in different kind of measurement tech was very essential then.

Later the Minister of the Ministry being gambler loss the Lab in game thus we became the just house in good place with unneeded people inside, for cement coorporation having boss also gambler, thus I drifted away to State Environmetal affairs Ministry and 11 years leaded the air quality inspectorate group including the jump from soviet legal system to European laws system and implementation of it. Later my wife said I must work for "real" job instead of State sake what is permanently thankless and paying the too small coins, so I went to school, teaching physics some 6 years.

Then State Ministress of Education made that salaries in schools was diminished 5-fold but bank credit payments was duplicated thus the question of personal bancrupsy... I went far away, to Israel for three years, so I got very interesting experience yet far off from profession - I was prost welder there. No any country on the World waste so much highly educated professionals like my language course mate the moscowian professor for hearth transplantation (how much all such surgeons are on the planet?

Are them 100 or less??). He had to have working as sanitary in the hospital. Then my Latvian boss won the EU Horizon Project and told me to come back to motherland and University - and I have never regret that, working already 18 years at Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy research as for experiments, as for being the system designer for electronics.

Just in research all the experiments are stopping on problem that such need electronics none is making - so we need to do DIY. We have small designer bureau with few people who can evolve my ideas ready. But nearest autumn is becoming queue for my retirement thus I have no sure I will keep in electronics after that - I have been employee for 54 uninterrupted years and I have rather large my folks land ownership what needs to be seeded, cropped etc etc. Peasantry gene is somewhere very deep in the veins for all Latvian people here except the russian 5th column. However my most far-explored pre-pre-pre-folk (my grandpa was "mad" about exploring his folks) came somewhere from Europe west as imported specialist-technologist for clay brick manufacturing and soon created the conveyor for his Germanic landowner.

That was in 1400th years very late or 1500th very early just about the London was growing over 100 000 inhabitant city before Riga city survived the First Livonia War. No one knows from where he was. His surname was Blachinn. Sometimes I look the Briton serial Vera where main actress is Blethyn... but no sure it stands to be much traditional British surname. Interesting, from where she`s surname come from?

Closing in on 60. Studied electronics in late teens in Australia. Haven't really touched the stuff since mid twenties I guess. But the fascination has never left me. Hoping to learn a bit here and rekindle some memories.

So, like reverse depression? What kind of neurotoxins were you exposed to as a child? Whatever it was I need to go bathe in it.
Had good parents.

Side note: I know a lot of people who have had absolutely terrible parents, the kind of which belong in jail. One person had a handsy grandfather and the mother did nothing to stop it. Another had a mother that used to pimp him out as a child boy. Won't go into details to protect their privacy. Another couple of these people I know have narcissistic mothers who guilt them into doing things they have no responsibility for. My parents were somewhat hands off but got involved when I needed guidance.

Reverse depression? Actually, I've had my share of depressive times. But carrying a heavy load just makes you stronger.
