I am a mechanical engineer working in IT Consulting, Ive been working and studying in many different countries in Europe and occasionally in Asia. Looking to start my own business based on digital technology. I have a general interest in engineering and thats why I am here.

Hello, I am an electronics engineer, all my life I have worked in network installation, (first in cable and lately in fiber optics), but I have always missed electronic components ... and circuit design.

I moved your post to here from tricks and tips if you remember the very first paragraph I will not allow posting just for the sake of posting in that thread.

Hey everyone! My name is Grace. I'm here to learn more about circuits and electronics in general. I want to create my own synth (something like moog werkstatt, but with my own vision).

Hello Grace, welcome to AAC.

There are plenty of people here happy to help so with some time and perseverance I expect you will succeed.

The key to getting the most out of AAC is asking questions in a way that people can answer them. It seems obvious but experience says otherwise. The quality of the question is probably the biggest predictor of the quality of the answers.

To boil it down, provide as much information as you can, pictures drawings and links to datasheets or manuals (as appropriate) are extremely desirable. If you are talking about a circuit, a schematic, or if you aren't ups to that yet, a wiring diagram; if you are talking about a piece of gear, a link to the manual and make/model information sufficient to find the item online.

And, very importantly, if you are trying to solve a problem, and run into trouble, when you are asking for help first explain the original problem your solution was meant to solve, then present that solution, then present the trouble oyu are having with that solution. If you present your trouble as the problem you are trying to solve, you will not get the best help.

I look forward to seeing your comments and threads.

A SW Developer just joined the forum. Very often finding myself designing HW - and asking for a second opinion...

Welcome to AAC.

You will find there are plenty of hardware folks here who have questions about software, so I hope you are able to help out with those questions.

Hello everyone! My name is Nelson aka Roxx, i am 37yrs old and live in Ahmedabad city in India. I dont have any college education or degree. I had been to Singapore and studied diploma in hospitality. Everything i have learnt is by breaking, modifying things and diy stuff.

In my childhood i used to open up everything and check how it works and would try to rebuild or modify it somehow. I have assembled computers and repaired motorcycles. I have also made few aquariums and stuff.

Currently i am looking for a new job as my previous company shutdown and i lost it.. with me, its like i have the needed skills and knowledge but don't have certificates or education documents to prove it.

Few of my adventures:
- Once in my childhood i was alone at home, i opened up the refrigerator door just to check why its so thick and whats inside.. i had found something like cotton layers inside and by touching it, all my body started iching.. i kept scratching for hours, parents came home then and the refrigerator was powered on the whole time...!!
- i wanted electric toys only to disassemble it, since then i have been collecting all types of electronic stuff even when i don't understand.. half of my room is full of unknown circuits, damaged or unusable electronics and motorcycle parts, computer parts..
- I used to be a rider and have done riding to almost everywhere in india except few North East states. been to Bhutan, Nepal too. All single person rides. longest was 87xxkms in about 35days. Due to fuel cost rising high and other issues i have stopped going for rides.. also went to racing school, participated in MRF national championship.
- most of my projects that includes electronic stuff have never finished because i lack knowledge, tools and so on. Some of such unfinished projects includes making a magic mirror 4x3feet with Google assistant, powerbanks and chargers.
- during childhood, i used to keep screw driver in my school bag and while walking home i used to open side/rear lights of scooters of strangers anywhere on the road, only to get the bulb from inside. Then at home i would connect to a AAA size cell, lighten up the bulb and be the happiest kid.

Here, in my city there is a market that opens only on Sundays and its like "chor bazar", they sell everything like electronics, pets, books, cloths, furniture and what not, it could be new and old, stolen and broken too.. sometimes i visit it and buy things. They just sell with their own price, price is negotiable, no bills, no receipts, no guarantee or warranty.. once sold then forget it. .. i have bought tripod, hard disks, cooling fans, unknown circuits... Its actually intresting.. next time i will make a video and show you guys the electronic stuff they sell...

Okay thats all that came to my mind. If you have any questions, do ask. Take care friends.
