way back when I used strain gauges place underneath are carpet runner over ceramic tile staggered the LED lights accordingly to illuminate one step in front of you to the next tile.
It was a long hallway to the bathroom it worked as expected but really really spooky just like in the movies.

At school age I went to the "Young technicians club" for radio-telemetry and got my job was exposed at moscow VDNH exhibition what was very high success for boy living in occupied territories, may read "fourth category human". Then I studied for radio-physics and diplom-work was Pirani vacuummeter ultrafast measurements and it automation via Hewlett-Packard interface (1981.!!!). So, later I designed and made a sysetm what read an electron microscopy data by computer in less than microsecond, ah ya, computer wasnt invented yet thus there was need to make it by self.

So, 1983 I made first color graphic display inside the iron curtain for to visualize that data by means of D-3-28 machine. Later I changed job to less inventive but 10x better paid in First Republican Atmosphere Measurements laboratory being the leading engineer for chemical methods. No apparatus, thus I produced it by own hands and our lab swirled up to 2000 samples per day.

Then came hated occupant regime crush and russian army walkout, we regained once stolen independence, but lab was gamed-off by minister in ill card game and then sold to get the land under it. So, then I repaired fridges, drove a car and sold a fishes, sold perfumery, did everything to not loss a family in obstacles when price raise-ups was in peak up to 300% daily.

Then one pen-she-friend from Finnland wrote - we have a bad times, had 5% inflation and many Finns are making suicide because that. I answered, yes, last month w had also 1800% inflation but still alive however bit scary. So, then I saw an inquiry that State Environmental Inspectorate seeks for highest position air quality specialist in State, and surprising, I was most best. I worked there 11 years until went to work to the school, what gave me 3-fold bigger salary.

Just by occasion I observed a new unknown physical effect, when cut the steel with abrasive it hardly magnetizes.

But someone in Japan was few month faster than me, so that became lost chance. Then my boss in University lab won the Project where they was able to give the good salary for "pumped back brains to motherland". But all the good times some-when ends, I am in homeland but only school was saving me, so I worked in prison school, in jew school, in normal school and fourth, after schoolwork at evening in Atomic physics institute.

So, Now I won the Project again, having three years to graduate my PhD dissertation, first I tried while young then tried about 200, and now last trial, or now or never so I shall die the first in family without of doctor degree in many many generations. My job is focused to ICP supplies, over 100 kW or 30-100 kV SMPS power supplies, ion sources, vacuum sputtering, electron microscopes, laser PS, ion implantation etc etc. After 2.5 years I shall become retired. (May be then the life will begin at last??).

Today is my 50 year working-life anniversary, I started to work in 1971 going one hour before the elementary school classes to the local telegraph archive.
