Who are you?

Hi all. I'm a graphic designer with no electronic skills. But I love to read about electronics and circuits and wished I was more handy with them in general. I follow many DIY audio forums and hopefully over time I will learn a bit more about the subject. In school I did very poorly in all engineering related classes, so this definitely doesn't come naturally for me! :(

Hi guys!
I'm Dave, 33 y/o and i'm from the midlands, UK.
Like most of you here, i have an interest in electronics, i'm just starting out in the hobby which i developed by flying quadcopters.
i'm here to learn and share the interest/hobby.

Hello,
I'm a recent graduate in biomedical engineering from st. louis university. My background is mostly in wet lab work (tissue engineering, drug delivery, etc), but i'm trying to help my friends out with their startup, which involves a lot of device design. Hence, I'll probably be asking a ton of questions on this forum in the next few weeks/months. Thanks for being such a great resource!

Hi there everyone this is Paul and you can call me PAUL. I am a internetaholic who loves to read and research about anything related to technology and science. I am a blogger as well and a problem solver too :)

Hello. My name is Dan. I just got my first Arduino Uno kit. I have a big imagination, and I am interested in CNC machines. I have no previous experience with electronics. I know basic electricity, welding, and machining. Electronics for controls is my new hobby. The last skill I must acquire to build my own smaller CNC machines for various ideas, and to save some dough not buying commercial. I design Industrial Furnaces and manage a small fabrication shop for a living. Mostly gas fired, some electric.

I was looking around for a good forum on electronics and circuit design and this looks like a very good one. I see I have a lot of reading to do, found the ebook. Great resource. Thanks.

Dropping by to say "howdy". Just joined. I'm pretty much a novice who's been tweaking/repairing guitars, bass's, amplifiers, and now tube radio's. I like the ax84.com forum, which is mainly for guitar amps. I joined this forum to have a more electronics forum to be part of. Hopefully some of the electronic mojo genius will rub off on me - lol. Have a good one...

Hello all:) Thank you so much for letting me in. I'm work for Boeing, and repair computers on the side. I have always tinkered with electronics, and I love to learn! Im here to see if I can learn how to make my own jtag for thumb drives. I have one that I want to test some stuff out on, so hopefully someone can show me the way...lol

Hi all,

I just wanted to come in here and introduce my self to everybody. My name is Randy, 30 years old, and getting ready to enter into the world of electronics. I am totally new to electronics and getting ready to take some basic electronic courses in June for my job. I work for Gulfstream aerospace and hope to get into the electronics department. Hoping to come here to learn some basic electronics stuff for work =)

Hello all my name is matt. I am a maintenance technician in a small plant. I am currently going to school for network administrator. I'm looking into working with circuit boards. And I am also starting to work with plc. I look forward in picking some of your brains and sharing my knowledge aswell.

Hi all,

Just a quick intro - My name is Arran; i'm 28 and from the UK. I worked for quite a few years as a battery test engineer (Lead-Acid & LiPO) more recently with Fuel Cells and currently with medical devices. I'd consider myself a relative beginner with elecronics as a whole but ive managed to pick up a few specialist bits & bobs on my travels. Looking to get a better grasp on the subject for work and general shenanigans. Look forward to learning from you guys!

Hi everyone

Just started an EE course to back up my practical skills.

I started early at 9yrs old stripping componants from old radios and such, though for the most part my numerical dyslexia and colour blindness made them something of a mystery.

Despite that I've spent most of my working life as a solder monkey for one company or other, and immersing myself in datasheets and constantly pestering the techies for info in the hope that some of it might eventually make sense and stick.

Luckily my theory seems to have worked, especially if SMD is involved (I have less trouble with numbers than colour), and I enjoy the intricate work involved with tiny componants (it's probably just me, but I find it therapeutic).

I got into making replica props and costumes at some point (I lost the hearing in my right ear to a nasty infection which ended my music production/DJing days), and it didnt take me long to realise that electronics were going to play a big part in that field (big Tron and SW fan, my "to build" list is large). So end of last year I scratch built most of my own PCB fabrication lab (turns out I rather like making stuff), and started this year by putting together an electronics lab and enrolling on the EE course.

Well, thats pretty much me in a nutshell, and I look forward to what the future holds :)

Who am I?

Brand new to this forum. I'm a UK theatre technician (performance, not surgical) with a love of circuits and
seemingly impossible projects.

HI!

Hello everyone. My name is Josh and I am a nurse in Augusta, GA. I grow orchids and carnivorous plant in my spare time and have a need and passion for automating as much as I can. I work a lot and the automation helps tremendously. The road that lead me here started with my desire to build a circuit to automate the shade cloth of the new greenhouse I'm building. While reserching I stumbled across a schematic for a circuit that will function like I want it to when added to another circuit, but none of the transistor or resistor values were correct per the thread I was reading. So I needed to learn how to calculate the needed discreet components. While doing the research for the components I was lead here. I've already watched a few videos just to make sure my base knowledge is sound (ad ive had no formal traning in elextronics) and hopefully find the answers I'm looking for. I plan on posting the schematic I put together just to have more experienced eye look at it and verify my calculations are correct or tell me if it can be reduce the size. Thanks in advance.

I'm someone who works with computers and TV's (basically replacing parts and once in a while I will replace the bad caps from power supplies), I was involved with electronics when I was a teenager which I built my first tube radio kit - can't find them anymore, but then I stopped, 33 years later I decided I need to have my hobby back and I'm starting again.
