Hi.

I need to replace some caps on a circuit board, and I have no idea what should look for. I need caps that is 25V and 330uF, and I have read that Panasonic produce very good caps.

When I am comparing Panasonics caps with diameter 8mm, 25V and 330uF, there is some parameters that I need to understand before I order, Lifetime and rippel current.



Lifetime and rippel current. What is the best capacitor? Is it good with large or small rippel current?

Large ripple current means, it can swallow the voltage ripples better and deliver a smoother DC voltage.
E.g. at the output of a bridge rectifier.
Lifetime -- of course, the longer it lasts the better, I would guess.

How are the capacitors being used? Unless they're rectifier filter caps, you don't need to worry about ripple current. Lifetimes are based on operating temperature and ripple current.

Look for some Panasonic literature on the different series to see if they mention anything to help you select one.
