Does that device have only two leads? If so it is probably a ROHM ICP-38 IC protector.

Where did it come from?

yes it does have only 2 leads.. it came from a JVC camcorder the power input circuit. actually there where 5 of then in parallel. im trying to figure out why theres no power coming in. ill post the photo of the board by tomorrow. thanks for the reply

The part is obsolete but there are a few sources easily found. The N-38 is a 4A device.

Here’s the datasheet. Scroll down for the “leaded type”, it starts with the SMD version.
thank you very much ... yes this camcorder was given by my father 20 years ago. i just used it a couple of times then it shut down on me. seens then it was in the closet all this years
