No idea what the input is though.

It may not be a power supply, it may be just a filter board. That depends on what is on the other side. BUT, given the value of anything that you might connect to a USB charger I would not use it.

 

If there are no other electronic components on the board then it is simply a passive filter for supplying 5V from the USB port.
