Hi all

I have a Samsung RMUP76855BB(A) modulator from a thomson sky+ box (stb)
It has a antenna input and two RF outputs, one of the outputs can have +9v
on it to power a remote sender unit, so that i can control downstairs box from
upstairs.

I was thinking of using it to send a signal from the composite video\audio output
from my sky+ HD box to send it to a tv upstairs, my sky+ HD box do not have any
antenna input or RF outputs, only hdmi or scart sockets .

Now to this Samsung modulator, it has 7 pins on the base, these are:
Pin 1 = TTL
Pin 2 = 9v
Pin 3 = Audio
Pin 4 = Sda
Pin 5 = B+
Pin 6 = Scl
Pin 7 = Video
And it has this chip MBS373CAEF, i have looked all over the net and not able to
find out what it is, from it having a SDA and SCL lines, it looks like it is controlled via I2C.

Can anyone help
Thanks
Howard

I can find that part number but it keeps coming up as a sop-16.
Can't seem to pry a datasheet out of anybody.

Hi all
Thanks for that datasheet Dodgydave :)

Now i know what this is, can anyone help me with
trying to work out how to control this thing ?
I think that i would need to use a mcu of some kind.

I would want the UHF oscillator output set to one UK
channel eg:E36 (591.25 MHz) PAL standard.

Thanks again for the help.

You need to work out how to use the I2C data address, this sets the chip up with the desired parameters, uhf output channel, audio carrier which is 6Mhz for PAL I in UK.
