What is a good power supply that outputs 2-10A?

I'm trying to find a current source that can be used to test and power solenoid electromagnets. I have 12 gauge wire rated for about 9A, but I don't expect to be sending that much current unless there are not enough force of attraction being generated. What are good brands for this purpose? A budget of $1000-2000 isn't out of the question. Also, are there any sort of programmable current sources that have a lot of different outputs? If wanted to power multiple solenoids as an example.
