I am working on a project, in which Technical Head of the company has told me to design a network for 4 storey building, such that-

1. First floor users should have IP from 190.168.1.1 - 190.168.1.100
2.Second floor users should have IP from 190.168.2.1 - 190.168.2.100
3.Third floor users should have IP from 190.168.3.1 - 190.168.3.100
4.Fourth floor users should have IP from 190.168.4.1 - 190.168.4.100

The server is advanced one and let us suppose it to be on the fourth floor. What should be done to design this network using sub netting?

No offence intended here, but this isn't really the right place to be asking this.

Also, you have not really stated enough information about what is going on.
For a start, is this ethernet? I assume so.
Are you cabling, is the server 1GbE, 10GbE, CX4, Fc?

Also, I suspect that you haven't even got the IP addresses that you were asked to use correct, perhaps:

1. First floor users should have IP from 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.100
2.Second floor users should have IP from 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.2.100 
3.Third floor users should have IP from 192.168.3.1 - 192.168.3.100
4.Fourth floor users should have IP from 192.168.4.1 - 192.168.4.100

I would suspect that what you really want is a class C network on each floor, GbE to desks
a router/backbone with 10GbE fibre to a central core switch on 4th floor
each of these would have to provide dhcp proxy/routing to their floors.
Alternatively you could vlan each network and use a single class B network to the main dhcp server.

This is something that you really should be taking to a network design company, primarilly as a proper design isn't free. I don't work for one, but have worked with many for some school implementations etc. and could perhaps pass you some details if you are in the UK.

Yeah, it is just an assignment given to me, as I am not an employee, but a trainee here. I am an engineering student and doing industrial training here. So, I only wanted the technical know-hows regarding this particular network.

I thought it looked more like a class exercise than a real life problem.

Anyhow, you have 4 class C IP networks to interconnect, the obvious solution would seem to be use a 4 port (or greater) router to route between them.

 

Ignore the last post! I was still thinking of 192.168.X.X network addresses rather than 190.169.X.X as stated in your problem.

With a 190.168.X.X network address you have a class B network.
You can either treat the 4 floors as one flat network connected to a common switch/router or divide it into 4 separate networks using subnetting. If you do the latter you will need a router to route between the 4 subnets.
