Hi, when a magnetic field collapses a voltage spike is induced what is meant by "CEMF". Bit confused I know its something to do with "Electromotive Force.

Thanks

CEMF stands for Counter ElectroMotive Force. The voltage induced by the field in the inductor will have a polarity opposite to the applied voltage.

Thanks for that do you mean then the induced voltage spike will flow in a different direction to the applied voltage?

Is "Back EMF" the same as "Counter EMF"?

Plus, the voltage of the back EMF or CEMF will be proportional to the resistance of the circuit in parallel with the inductor, when the voltage applied ceases to exist.
