I'm new to this forum and Ive joined in hope of finding information which I have been unable to find with traditional search tools. Some background information on the chip in question, it is a part of the power board on Beringher power amplifier. It is a Viper53 438252. So trying to purchase the chip, Ive been unable to source the exact match locally and the options seems to be very limited. I have also not been able to get a data sheet for it to try and match it to another chip. So my question is, is anyone on here familiar with this chip by chance and is there any possibility of getting something like it that would perform the same function in the powerboard?

The 438252 is probably just a lot number or some form of internal tracking number so it really doesn't mean a whole lot to you as a search or match

In your mind what does "any other VIPER53 chip" actually mean? Perhaps you meant "any similar VIPER53 chip".

ETA: These are fairly "obsolete" chips (ca. 2006) so there may be more modern chips available.

According to the datasheet there are no variations other than the package so yes.

Supposedly there is more than one variation. So far Ive found 4, Viper53 Viper53E Viper53A and Viper53E-E but here is the funny thing, the chips all just say Viper53 on them. So what Im not sure about is which chip do I have in the amplifier since no information about is available other than the model number. So I was hoping someone might have a had a run into and know more about the chip inside the amplifier.

Well from what I see they are all from ST, and here is where Im confused. ST website only mentions Viper53e and Viper53E-E(this one does not come in dip8 I suppose it cant be my one). But then could it be they only show the models currently in production and not show obsolete models used before?

That is certainly possible. You should also look for dates on the datasheet. The one I found that was NOT from "alldatasheet" was dated 2006. That is most charitably described as the Stone Age when it comes to chips. You cannot exclude the possibility that they have been revised one or more times in the last 18 years. Enough time has passed since the industry transitioned to SMT technology, that finding a DIP package still in production is becoming rarer.

My apologies. Typically from what I have seen most manufacturers would make say a Viper53 datasheet and list E, A, and E-E as a variation in that datasheet. Now I'm a bit confused myself.

Well emailed ST directly and sent them a picture of the chip and asked for an exact replacement. The answer stated a "closest" replacement would be the Viper53E. But is closest what I need, it didnt sound reassuring.
