Hi everyone,
I’m trying to fix my Vinotemp VT-46-2Z-SBB wine cooler. The LED display isn’t working fully only partly), and I think it’s the display board, part number VT-DB001. I’d love to repair it if possible—can anyone guide me on troubleshooting or fixing it? I have basic soldering skills and a multimeter. If repair isn’t an option, does anyone have a spare VT-DB001 or know where to find one besides Vinotemp?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to AAC!

First thing to do is find the manufacturers schematic drawing if possible. Then, inspect the board carefully for burnt or damaged components. Does the board get power? Do any of the LEDs light up? You need to identify and find the product data files for U1 and IC1 so you can check the pins for voltage, inputs, outputs, etc.

The LED display isn’t working fully only partly, is not an adequate description. What is the specific complaint?? Some digits not working> Or just some segments or characteristics.

Those 7 segment (actually 8 counting the decimal place) displays usually have a driver chip for each unit. Repost the display side of the board as I don't remember seeing those chips. Could be a bad driver chip or what is sending data to those chips.

There is no separate driver IC for the displays!! In addition, given that each display appears to have only 8 pins for two digits plus decimals, they would not seem to be the common LED display types. Note the connections to the first four terminals are tied in reverse sequence between the two display blocks. So there is some rather uncommon scheme being used.
Also, consider that we are not told which segments do not illuminate. THAT might be part of the design!!
Really, it is not at all likely that replacing any parts will be able to change anything. Certainly that is a custom IC running code that is not available to load onto a replacement IC.

Is there any problem with the operation of the cooler system?? AND, which two segments do not light???

Has you can see the 66 and 68 temp, Also the fridge froze one of the wine bottles I could not adjust the temperature has I was not really able to see at first I was thinking something else was going on .
i also checked all fans ect and the main board everything appears to be working fine .
I was hoping to find a replacement board but no more support from Vinotemp has this model his discontinue, I looked on eBay and no matching parts all I can find is a stove control board that appears to be the same but they where out of stock in the UK. So hoping to fix it or someone has a part.

thanks

What it looks like is that there must be some logic in each display, aside from just LEDs. And given that the label clearly states that it is made in China, there will probably be a communications issue trying to contact the manufacturer. Is there a local seller of this wine cooler?? A local seller might possibly have parts from units damaged in shipping that they might be willing to sell.
A couple of years ago i replaced a temperature controller in a "sandwich build table" for a restaurant. That was a quite small computerized control about 1 1/2 inches by four inches by 3 1/2 inches that would control a compressor, an evaporator fan, and a defrost heater. So that is a possible alternative, a total controller replacement.
