I have a project in which an esp8266 goes to deepsleep to save energy. 74hc86 generates the pulse to wake it up but drains the battery too fast. Can someone advise me an alternative for 74hc86? Thanks

No. It would be perfect only that I have measured it and it is consuming 8mA (far too much). Maybe the circuit is damaged. I'll try with a new one. Thanks for your answer.

Just seen your post ref connecting free Input pins.. Always do that with CMOS.
