Hey there,

Anybody try one of these yet? They've been around for a while now.

When I designed a 4 channel USB voltmeter/other I used an opto coupler, but using a USB isolator would make this kind of project even simpler.
In theory I guess you could just use an Arduino with USB isolator to measure just about any voltage using the ADC input, and not have to worry about galvanic isolation.

Thoughts?

yup... that will do. though i would rather have the isolation built into product to avoid bubba from removing "unnecessary" item.
optocouplers are great but have limited top speed. today there is plenty of isolator ICs on the market that do isolation on multiple channels and allow faster speeds. coupling is usually capacitive or inductive.
