I'll never forget the first draft (not bottled or canned) Guinness I had in Aberystwyth, Wales. I'd been working a couple years and treated myself to a tour of Europe. The pint of stout was so perfect. Years later they figured out how to get closer to the draft experience out of the cans. Probably not quite the same but a lot closer. And of course you can find stout on draft pretty easily these days. Progress!!

My first Guinness was at the Hungry Sailor bar in Coconut Grove, FL a long, long time ago.

You always remember your first time.

I'm sure most have heard this story but I just love it. What a classic.
Watching them leave Okinawa was a thriller, receiving their radar intercept messages as they flew over the Russian bases off the northern coast was a trip, the air waves were alive with their attempts to get a possible missile lock. Fun times.

Fig flavoured vodka.

The name translates literally to Little Coward and is a pun on the words feige (cowardly) and Feige (fig), which are homophones in German.
In Germany, the drink is often purchased in 20 milliliter shooter-sized bottles. Custom dictates that the drinker tap the cap of the upside down bottle on the table, making bubbles in the liquid just before it is consumed.
