I'm also Romany, Swiss Romany, but I think the Siberian could have came from people who made their way to England in a pocket of people following a Viking King as Mercenaries and stayed to mingle, marry to become part of the new world in the year 1015.

He may suffer some consequences but I don’t think the DTs are one of them. Even if he’s consuming 2,500 calories per day, that’s 20 Guinness stouts and 10 ounces of ethanol. Definitely a lot but it’s less than one ounce per waking hour. Child’s play.
