Trying to remote into Linux Mint 18.3 from a Windows 7 PC via Tightvnc. I am able to make the connection, but the resulting desktop is gray with an X for a cursor.
A long time ago I was able to remote into an Ubuntu installation with little effort, using windows remote desktop. Tried a few solutions gleaned on the 'net for this issue (seems to be a fairly common woe) but nothing has worked.
I'm sure it's something simple . .. but my Linux knowledge is lacking. Still working on it as I can. I'm wanting to learn more about Linux, and it would be helpful to be able to remote into the box from my primary office PC when I have time. Due to space considerations, the Linux box has to be in another area.
