Hi all!

The question is about a thermocouple and how it's time constant affects the choice of an AD converter.

Say that a thermocouple has a time constant of 0.5 sec or even 1 sec, what should I consider when choosing a correct AD.

I know it has something to do with the sampling rate of the AD converter, but I just could not google something that explained the "how to" or why.
Can you explain this or send me links about it?

If the signal you are measuring has a time constant of 1s, does it make much sense to sample it at 1MSa/s?
