Yes 230 - 220 x 0.5 = 120 per PEDMAS. If you simply solve it left to right you will get the incorrect answer of 5.

But the original said that that answer was 5!, not 5.
5! = 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 120, so

230 - 220 x 0.5 = 5! is correct.

Took some waking up of math brain cells, but actually, yes, 5! is the right answer. @Ylli is right.

 

Killivolt had a a thread on math being the language of the gods. This one, 230 - 220 x 0.5 must be in that language. Where I went to school, 230 -220 =10 and 10 x 0.5 =5. I don't understand how you guys got 120.

It made me laugh. Not necessarily the "joke" itself, but the reactions made me laugh. I'd call it a joke or a riddle or a funny trick that made some smart people upset that they didn't notice the "!".

They did catch it. The new banner will say, "Ohio First in Mistakes". I'm living proof of that one, my oldman hated me since I'm the reason he had to get married. And that isn't a joke.

Or best at it. I've made a mistake or two in my lifetime. Probably even a third mistake, but I will never know. And I'm not talking about making kids.

My parents divorced then remarried. Later on I came along. They just had to try one more time to get it right. Oh well, they tried.

Thanks Guys, for the support. I didn't know it for many year but always wondered why my oldman treated me different than the other 5 kids. Hell we never had a family vacation until the year I graduated and started a full time job. That same summer he took the rest of them on one.

I didn't even know or figure it out until I joined Ancestry, and saw the marriage certificate. But I have always tried my best to prove him wrong, I am worth something.

Sorry to bring down the JOKES thread, back to our normal programing.
