What is the differences of MAX232, MAX232N, MAX232CPE and MAX232CP?
As I read the data sheet for MAX232N, it is using plus and minus 8.5V dc for pin 2 (Vs+) and pin 6 (Vs-).
And some MAX232 use 3.3V or 5V...
Can I use 5V and ground for MAX232N.
If yes, how to use it?

The MAX232 is intended to be run from a 5v supply. The +/-8.5v pins you mention are generated from within the chip so that TTL levels can be converted to RS232 levels, which go above and below 0v. Page 7 of this link shows its typical application.

It has two TTL to RS232 converters and two RS232 to TTL converters.

As far as I know, the ‘N’ or other suffix denotes the type of package.
