Japan to downgrade COVID-19 as seasonal flu in spring

COVID-19 is currently in Japan's second-highest disease category. It is classified along with such diseases as tuberculosis and severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS.

The downgrade will bring COVID-19 to rank in category five, meaning state of emergency declarations will not be declared. Those who become infected or come into close contact with the infected will not be required to quarantine either. Public funding of medical expenses will be phased out and the government is also looking to scrap its indoor mask recommendation.

the points claim "we know it came from an animal" without any proof. it also says that animal to human and vice versa is possible but that it does not play significant role.

is there a lot of crap on internet? absolutely and that is unfortunate. but believing that crap as "proof" is nonsense. and do not get me wrong, i respect you very much and consider you to be a very sharp and respectable guy. but that is not enough to make you always right and i do not always agree with you or anyone else.

but i do try to find information from DIVERSE sources and evaluate not just the message but where the message is from and what supports it. government officials, CDC and media were wrong on things so many times it is not even funny.

mentioning that Corona viruses existed before bio labs existed is true but it is also completely pointless. bringing up what historically used to be true while ignoring modern developments is not smart.
for example people were hurt and died in traffic accidents long before first engine or first car was ever made. yes, people were thrown off or run over by horses, chariots, wagons, crushed by triremes etc. so just because cars are a recent thing, and for thousands of years people were maimed by other types of transportation, it does not mean one should dismiss todays vehicles as a potential reason for traffic related injuries or deaths. in fact they are one of the most significant factors got to this high spot at an unprecedented rate.

and if Julius Cesar or Genghis Khan had biolabs, i am sure they would use them and things we know today would be different. Just because they are recent, it does not mean they are not possible source of the problems we faced for past few years.

vaccine does have very limited if any benefit. this too used to be disputed, claiming efficacy of 99.8% or whatever. then in one of the videos by good doctor Campbell it was revealed that calculated value is a relative efficacy - which is why it was used (this is the number that looks impressive), but if it was an absolute efficacy (i hope i recall the term name correctly), numbers would be absolutely horrible. i do not think anybody i have talked to wants another shot now. Woody Harrelson on SNL was spot on even if studio audience was stunned.

"vaccine prevents you from getting sick." yea right... that was also propaganda BS. meanwhile people were getting infected over and over, even after multiple vaccines and boosters and there is plenty of data to prove it.

"if you get vaccinated, you will not carry or spread virus". yeah right... another BS claim. people with multiple boosters were still spreading the virus.

"vaccine is safe..." based on what? people are keeling over in high numbers - including many young ones. current excess deaths tell that story may not be so clear cut. maybe it is something else but it is too early to tell. long term effects are still not known and more will be known in a decade. risk/benefit ratio look really bad now.

The cause is corruption, fraud and general criminal activity for personal profit by Chinese officials on a massive scale from the illicit wild animal trade that likely transferred the novel version of the virus from some jungle to the city. It was examined in some lab after it arrived near cities due to animal smugglers selling in city markets and starting killing researchers. A secret lab escape means just this was an accident of an otherwise very controlled program of a very contagious virus. I would personally like to believe the theory of lab-leak, if in fact, every scrap of factual, scientific evidence didn't point to animal transfer and a brutal set of actions to hide criminal activity by punishing those in Chinese labs and/or officials that warned the public about this virus before to escaped into general circulation.. Yes, the Chinese are hiding something horrible, they are IMO hiding their unforgivable criminal complicity to a world-wide pandemic due to simple greed.

Unfortunately, a lot of non-science oriented people out there interpret the term "lab leak" as if the virus was artificially engineered for a weapons development program of sorts.

When I explain to them that if it was indeed a "lab leak" (which I seriously doubt) then it was because of scientific research involving wild animals and such. And it is extremely unlikely that said virus is a weaponized mutation because it would not only be irresponsible, but also idiotic and stupid to work on something on which you have absolutely no control of and could very easily turn against you.

Plus the cost of protecting your own population against said menace would be prohibitive... and China did pay the price.

It's too bad that most of the time governments choose politics over truth, and seldom come clean about their own reposibilities when crisis of this magnitude explode.

But lots of people have a cynical nature, and will always tend to blame obscure conspiracies because in their minds it's impossible to imagine that a disaster like this has a natural origin... it's a lot easier to direct one's anger and frustration at someone rather than at something.

 

And it is extremely unlikely that said virus is a weaponized mutation because it would not only be irresponsible, but also idiotic and stupid to work on something on which you have absolutely no control of and could very easily turn against you.

happens all the time... group of people are doing research for the sake of gaining knowledge and have no intention of actually using or releasing the experiment. so they test the limits, dutifully record results and try other things... one day a single person walks in and has change of heart or hidden agenda or motive.. those that worked on something that could be very dangerous outside of the confines don't even have an idea...
