Brilliant stuf Mr Chips ! I was brought up on the Beatles ( I just turned 70 last week) ...
They say modern music can't match the old , But now I'm not sure , I've just discovered Robbie Williams !
His Knebworth performance surpases anyother recored for Divine upliftment and audience participation (IMHO)
I hope you don't mind me posting this here...

MrChips added lyrics:

Robbie Williams - Angels

I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're grey and old
'Cause I have been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold

So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel the love is dead
I'm loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call, she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call, she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call, she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

The amazing technology available to musicians today.
This makes the original Beatles recordings the more outstanding. The Sgt Peppers album was recorded on a 4 track machine. Abbey Road was recorded on 8 track.

re: Robbie Williams live at Knebworth, August 2003.
Gosh. I was just in Harpenden for two weeks, about 17km away from Knebworth.

I remember the old man had a Sgt Peppers cassette that he played a lot!! It was hard to hear over the built 340 in the Dart at times, but I grew to like it and the songs still bring a smile 25 years later.

I heard the new song yesterday and didn't realize it was something new until it was over and the DJ was talking about it. Pretty neat.

And then there is Taylor Swift….
Yes Taylor Swift is wonderful ... she must be the most worshiped and successful artist of all time already a $ Billionair and a great philanthropist , although lyrics are not as "Spiritual" as Robbies
Check out the lyrics to Robbies "Feel"

Come on, hold my hand
I wanna contact the living
Not sure I understand
This role I've been given
I sit and talk to God
And he just laughs at my plans
My head speaks a language
I don't understand
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
'Cause I got too much life
Running through my veins
Going to waste
I don't wanna die
But I ain't keen on living either
Before I fall in love
I'm preparing to leave her
I scare myself to death
That's why I keep on running
Before I've arrived
I can see myself coming
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
'Cause I got too much life
Running through my veins
Going to waste
And I need to feel
Real love and the love ever after
I cannot get enough
I just wanna feel real love
Feel the home that I live in
I got too much love
Running through my veins
To go to waste
I just wanna feel real love
And life ever after
There's a hole in my soul
You can see it in my face
It's a real big place

here's a duet with Taylor and Robbie

And Robbie's very moving Knebworth "Feel"

Yes Taylor Swift is wonderful ..
Seeing all the hype about her latest tour, I decided I should at least know what she was about. I listened to several of her most popular songs. Found them quite unremarkable.

If you are interested in good song lyrics, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen are the masters.

Yes Taylor Swift caters for the teenage girl market. But where do they get the money to buy the tickets?

From Search ..." ...ticket prices started at around $600 to $700 for “nosebleed” seats in the 500-level sections but dropped to around $300 to $400... "

Millions of kids attended her tour filling stadiums . But there all jumping up and down with love and bliss . That is what's important , same with Robbie Williams .

I was a big fan of Dylan and Cohen in my youth ... but niether bring Love into the world , been described as music to commit suicide to.
