I was just trying to find out about the bowl Sam. Maybe someone here will have worked there once and actually know ?
I can make a pretty mean homemade Pizza too! NO!!! I'm not in Italy. I can say when I was young I went to Godfathers pizza and had a pizza pie. Don't know if they're still around but it was like a pot pie only with a pizza filling. "BEST" damn pizza I ever had.

My Granddaughters and I were talking about the same thing. Pizza is not Pizza in Italy, if you happen to find someone willing to make it, it's like some tomatoes thrown on top bread flattened bread, with a few pieces of Mozzarella strewn about. At least that is my understanding, they might be more cultured today, about in American fake pizza. As with the bowl, I've found that if you ask people at Taco Bell if you can purchase just the bowl maybe?

But if you want the real deal, you'll have to fashion a wire bowl in the same shape then deep fry it or cook it with an Air fryer (Suggested). Going the air fryer method doesn't dispense as much oil into the bowl. Threat is a real threat, of high blood pressure, high Triglycerides, plus low HDL cholesterol, with high blood sugar, coupled with a large mid-waist. Can lead to some very bad things, as we age it gets compounded because we slow down metabolism, with a decrease in physical activity, then we tend to become more insulin resistant and our wait grows which is the first sign of a degrading organs suffering from fatty tissues around them.

I watch my fat intake, sugar, Meat the size that will fit in my palm or less, increase veggies, and exercise.

10 miles a day walking is a short distance for me typically. No pop, no candy, water only.

Yup, that's exactly what he got and was mad as hell about it. He thought they were making fun of him.
Since they don't have much income, economy poor won't spend much for the people traveling there. I guess if you have just enough calories and protein. It's all a go, do not exclude the wine. Which will make you even more hungry, sell more wine and food at a high price.

Stupid Americans.

I normally don't ever order a New York steak cut when at a restaurant, nor do I buy it at the store. The cut's too lean for my taste, so I normally go for Rib Eye, T-bone or Sirloin. But this friend of mine bought an entire piece of New York steak the other night, and shared it with us... boy... did he change my religion. The only seasoning he added was coarse sea salt ... It was delicious and tender to the extreme...

That is a nice well-marbled cut of beef. Hard to find these days as the trend has gone from marbled to lean to the point of extremely tough.

This morning's weather:

And now, here's a real Mexican tummy-warmer. (I'm looking at you, @ronv ;)) It's called Puchero, and it's the most delicious and gratifying soup there is for chilly days like this one ... we like to call this sort of dish "bone-warmers"

Ingredients:
  • Several cuts of Chamberet (marrow ring bones included)
  • Chopped onion
  • Chopped leaves of mint
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Chopped "camote" (it's a kind of sweet potato)
  • Chopped zucchini
  • Chopped squash
  • Chopped green bell pepper
  • Chopped carrots
  • Chopped cabbage
  • A few small potatoes cut in half
  • A few half-pieces of Mexican white corn
  • Salt, pepper and garlic to taste

First, boil the corn until it's thoroughly cooked. Then add the rest of the ingredients, and boil until the meat is so soft that can be pulled apart with a fork.

Serve on a large soup plate. It's important to squeeze the juice of half a small lemon right before eating... I like to add a few drops of Tabasco as well.

You're killing me here Martinez. My last food was last night, I am fasting all day and soon I start the prep for a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. :) Everything looks delicious.

Oh my... that was very cruel of me... I apologize ... in that case, allow me to deliver the final lethal blow to put an end to your inhumane misery :p :D:

Once served, add a generous scoop of seasoned rice, plus the mandatory squeeze of lime juice and a few drops of tabasco to taste... a couple of maize tortillas by the side would be in order too.

Coloscopy is a cakewalk, but I'd like to kill that sumbitch that dreamed up that prep cocktail. My next one is due next summer and that's all too soon but gotta do it since bowel cancer runs in the family. Next time I'll look into adult diapers since crapping yer drawers on the way to the procedure just doesn't cut it.

Actually funny you should say as my sister mentioned that. :) That was one of my real concerns with the prep they gave me this time. Oh well good for another 3 years.

Got through it fine and it wasn't my first. :) Good for another 3 years less a few polyps but in the past they were all OK. I am just glad today is done! :)
Glad it turned out well.

I read a story of a woman who convinced her 90 year old mother to get her first colonoscopy. The mother had a bad feeling about it, but reluctantly agreed.

During the procedure, her intestine was damaged. The medical staff didn't catch it and she bled out. Scarey.

Oh and Chili con carne on the menu for today. Temp finally dropped under 60F and had to turn the heater on for the first time since last winter so it's Chili time.

I agree. Never needed diapers, but that may be related to the specific prep used. I drive myself both ways to the center.

One factor to consider is whether to get "sedation" (high as a kite). I have had it done both ways (x2 each) and far prefer not getting sedation. You go to the procedure, face a little embarrassment*, go home, and have the rest of the day to do whatever. Most important, it's like one of those "honey I shrunk the kids" movies, except it is real, and you gain a new perspective. Plus, you can be sure the procedure goes all the way to the illeocecal valve (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ileocecal_valve ).

The biggest obstacle is convincing staff in the surgi-center not to give you sedation, since in the US, most people get it. On my last trip, I learned that the ratio of sedation to no sedation in Europe strongly favors no sedation.

John

*Everyone passes gas during the procedure. That is, the gas that is used to inflate the bowel so the colonoscope can navigate. Without sedation, social mores make one reluctant to do it. With sedation, it still happens, but you probably don't remember.
