Switching multiple solenoid valves with single relay.

I've done a few searches and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I would like to trigger 3 solenoid valves to open together with a single relay. The valves are all the same and rated at 18watts at 12vdc. I will use a 10a power supply. The relay is an arduino shield that has it's own built in protection. The only thing connected to the 12v power supply will be the solenoids. I'm hoping that a diode across each solenoid will be enough protection. I've attached a diagram of what I would like to do.

Does it make sense?

Thank you for any help.

Do you have ratings and/or spec sheets for the relay on the Arduino board? Is it rated for switching at least 4.5A? As long as the relay is up for the amperage, everything else looks fine to me.

Thank you for all the help. System worked great. Reason I didn’t use a mosfet, which I know is more simple, is that the relay board was already part of the project.
