A buddy of mine is looking for an easy method for controlling the speed on a wheelchair. 36v about 70amps what would you suggest using?
He said he might just us a starter solenoid, but thats just touch and go.

 

Google for "DC motor speed controller" they are available from many sources like ebay and the hobby robot suppliers etc (many large robots and battlebots use wheelchair motors).

I would probably prefer to Extra-Wide Wheelchairs it contains of typical range and also weight about the capacity of 450 maximum. They have also typical seat and back materials are cushioned mesh sling materials and most of all it is
features such as wheel locks and folding footrests. I think this is what you looking for.
