That shawarma looks wonderful. I spent a couple days in Istanbul (c. 2004) in a little hotel at the top of the hill looking down at the Golden Horn. Had that delicious inverted meat cone thing sliced onto some bread for a meal and fresh squeezed orange juice for refreshment. I personally was accompanying my wife while she was meeting up with Russian oil company big wigs and negotiating leases near Baku. Those Russians drank a lot of vodka! Anything was another excuse for a toast. Good thing the company provided a driver and guide to get us back to the hotel every night. Good times.

The employees at Clyde Cooper's Barbeque restaurant even showed the woman Google results of smoked meat hoping to assure her that her food was thoroughly cooked. The woman continued telling the pit masters that, "it's not done" and "well, you can cook it some more."

 

 

Um, my pizza sauce "turned" and maybe my pepperoni did too, so, let me recommend pouring some honey on that slice so you don't taste those funky tastes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last summer I got a beef shawarma wrap from a food truck that had french fries in the wrap; I was apprehensive but it was pretty good.
