I recall that, in fact that was the one I used back in late 70's (hobby stuff) I forgot about those other terminals but I do recall those 15v batteries, wonder if they're still made.

They are but oh the cost !
Here in NZ, ~double that I remember them but they're not a battery type you can find most anywhere.
A few minutes looking found them online local for NZD$40 and about half that in the US.
Apparently all these types are equivalents:
Also known as Eveready 504, Duracell M504, Mallory M504, MN154, B154, BLR154, Exide DH554, Rayovac 220, BA332/U, Panasonic W10E, Burgess Y10, GP 220A, Varta V149U, Varta 74, Pertrix 74, V74PX, Kodak KA74, W10, TR149, NEDA 220, ANSI 220, IEC 10F15, V74PX, A220 (Eveready 504, Rayovac 220 or BLR154)

Another MCM I have also uses them, a Japanese Kaise and I didn't mind butchering it to fit a LM7815 on the off-chance I needed another MCM for high Ohms measurements back in those days but now with low cost quite decent bench meters available capable of 100 MOhms much of the mucking around with MCM's is consigned to history.

Man, "rayovac" and "varta" I haven't heard those brand names in decades! I wonder if Flying Bomb are still available...

I saw Rayovac batteries at Walmart just today. Never heard of Varta brand.
