Hi. I continue to read, but a still a bit confused. I attached my 3v baterry to my breadboard circuit and used some jumpers to complete the circuit. when I measured the voltage, I got a reading of around .3 volts... this surprise me greatly and couldnt understand it.

I then attached my 2.6v LED into the circuit and lo and behold the voltage going into the LED was 2.7v and the voltage out was 0 (ok I now understand why it is 0), but dont get why the voltage is so low with no component in the circuit.

Can you post the circuit and indicate what points you are using to measure the voltage?

 

Not enough info. Check for Shorts or Open circuits. Need Circuit.
