Hi everyone, I have a motor which could be either connected in delta or star, this motor will be used for moving a conveyor band, which are the differences between delta and star connection for this purpouse? which one is the best connection?

 

Foir all porpoises your best bet is to look at the plate on the motor which should tell you the voltage and other characteristics.

 

Hi, the motor´s plate show me both choices, but it doesn´t give me any information related with the connection. Moreover, because it is a dual voltage it shows 2 connectios (delta and star) in low voltage and other two in high voltage...
The plate shows:
Star connection (230V) - Low start
Delta conecction (230V)- Low run
Star connection (460V) - High start
Delta conecction (460V)- High run
