Just a tip for next time. With heatsink thermal compound, less is better.
You don't need a lot. Just a thin film will do.

 

Yeah I did go a bit overkill with the paste, I have since cleaned it up a from that photo, ( 1000 wipes and a full roll of tissue)

Also gave the amp to a friend of mine who is a DJ to try it out, he said it works well and the fan kicks in and out so think the cooling circuit is working ok,

 

have i exhausted everyone or would anyone be interested in guiding me through fitting the missing components and upgrading it so to speak, or should i just leave well alone ?
