That may be so but.. It also said how much harder and that it is seldom used.But the article from Digikey that you referenced says how much better it is to drive a “BLDC“ motor with sine waves.

Both quotes from that Digikey link. So I'm doubting a BLDC scooter uses sine drive. And that is the thing that was being the topic, a BLDC scooter.
