i need some help with these questions

1. Sketch a half-wave rectifier circuit and then draw the output for an input that is sinusoidal.

2. Design and draw a circuit that clamps at +2V a signal with the following parameters:

· F = 1 KHz

· Square wave

· Vp-p = 10 V

· Voff = 0 V

The circuit must comply with IEEE315 or IEC60617 standard. In other words, the minimum of the output should be at 2V.

i dont understand the question the TA doesnt explained (MOD EDIT: anything) at the lab i dont know how i am suppose to do this so if you can explain me it will be great

So what have you tried in terms of learning this stuff on your own?

Perhaps Googling, say, half-wave rectifier circuit, perhaps?

Have you looked at either of the two IEEE standards that were referenced?

 

What part of the question don't you understand? Do you know what a rectifier is? If yes, do you know what it means to be half-wave rectified? Do you know what a sinusoidal waveform is?

I don't think there's a clearer way to ask the question.

 

I am pretty sure one or more of my textbooks explained half wave rectifier. Hek! Just google the effing thing! You are not the first and you are not the last person that needs explanation of half wave rectifier.
