Can anyone explain me about the following sentence :
"The size of the conductor and the distance it travels impacts the performance of the system"

This can also depend on the nature of the signal and its purpose.
Basically the size and length of a conductors is decided on what voltage and current it carries, other signal characteristics would have to be known, AC frequency etc, for example.
